Not during the sessions mind, but afterwards I often enjoyed a little chat with Gav. He was a genuine, interesting and lovely man who although not loud, always seemed to get the best out of people. I will really miss seeing him and my heart goes out to his family. It truly is a tragedy that his life was cut short in this way.

I guess Gavin had the ability to make the difficult seem esay - quite a talent which I personally will miss. Gav brought us the benefit of his fitness experience, he made us work hard but made it all great, muddy fun, and he always made sure new members felt welcome and encouraged everyone, no matter what their ability, in his quiet style that made nobody feel self-conscious, just part of a fun team getting fit together. As with all the other messages, which I've read on the metro site,the recurring theme about Gavin is that you don't need to have known this lovely, genuine man for any length of time at all to gain a warmth and feeling of ease in his presence. He never made you feel rushed and would take the time to listen and genuinely seemed interested in all that you had to say. As a fellow Podiatrist we've chatted about the course and Gavin had even pointed BMFers in my direction. I'd like to send my heartfelt sympathies to Gavin's Mum, Dad, girlfriend,family and friends.
